MECHANICAL SELECTION PLANT FOR M.S.W.
Video MECHANICAL SELECTION PLANT
Collecting trucks, called compactors, transport the waste to the plant.
The waste is unloaded on a drained floor, in a pressurized warehouse where an at sight selection is made to remove voluminous foreign bodies .
This area is separated from the rest of the plant and kept in light depression by an air suction pipe system.
The air is sent to the dust wet reduction plant.
The selection process carries out the separation of the non-homogeneous fractions from the recycling waste through mechanical and physical processes.
The next selection process allows to separate the lower filtered wet waste from the dry waste.
All filtered waste, upper and lower filtered waste, is filtered again to obtain more metals through magnetic separators.
CONTROL OF DUST AND ODOUR EMISSIONS AND ACOUSTIC IMPACT
One of the most important problem concerning the waste disposal plant management is the dust production and the odour emissions during storage, transport and mechanical process.
Generally these problems only arise because of insufficient planning, building or plant management; therefore, all this can be efficiently prevented or reduced through precise building solutions, special devices to reduce the pollutants, and finally, a correct management of all plant activities.
The whole plant, installed in closed spaces, has a suction system for the recycling of the volatile organic compounds and dusts, produced during the mechanical processes.
The air, sucked with an appropriate number of cycles/hour, is continuously processed with a special depulverizing system and finally purified from odouring compounds through a biofilter system, granting a constant plant ventilation, which enables the work activities, minimizes the odour impact and the contact with possible polluting substances for the staff and for the surrounding inhabitants.
The biofilter reduces the organic air substances.
It takes advantage of a natural air cleaning process, that uses some groups of aerobic microorganisms, living in organic substances.
The emissions to purify, are taken from the sources inside the processing plant and piped to the reduction plant. At present, biofilters can reach 99% of reduction efficiency.
As for as the diffusion of noise is concerned, the plant project is developed to have a low noise pollution, both outside and inside the plant.
